the first two discs of the "Textures" series of albums by Dustin Beyette were composed in 2005 and 2006 in the months leading up to returning to his hometown of Portland, ME. From there he continued to work on new orphan tracks and while the album was not technically ever finished or finalized, the project was abandoned out of new sounds and genre explorations going on. The files associated with this release are of a 2014 remaster of the entire project and all of it's exported associated files. Typically in Dustin's workflow all the songs exported to WAV or MP3 are the songs most associated with finished songs. The songs on this album were the result of learning the practice of automation, and the energy behind playing guitar and keyboard to write parts rather than clicking the notes on a software piano roll. While the melodies would often appear in a track from a piano roll it would be after a phrase was already established on an instrument, then translated to piano roll to then test what instrument and sound the actual phrase would sound like timbre-wise in the composition.
