about

For the first time available to the general public, "Rugged " is next in line to be released on Google Play Music, Bandcamp and Kunaki. It is the next remaster of Dustin's instrumental works after "E Tahe V Oletah", which was released worldwide on May 15th, 2014. Audio production started on the last week of June 2014 and features a generally louder and clearer mix of all the tracks, as well as a slightly modified continuous presentation, additional presentation effects and repaired EQ. Like the other 2014 remasters coming out of the Dustin Beyette vault , the track lengths on this release differ from the original songs because the intro of the songs are often at the end of the track before them since they are meant to play like a movie, an entire experience from the first track to the last track. There are not many moments of silence. The tracks have been mastered gapless and all original segues between songs are now seamless unless a gap otherwise seemed appropriate.

Another difference in the remaster is with the original track listing, which has been slightly altered. Tracks 2 and 17 were replaced with "Muscle" and "Tears from a Demon", two songs that didn't originally sit in the final tracklist but were made in the same time period as the rest of the songs composed for "Rugged " and "Digitally Delicious ". Track 16 is also marked as an instrumental on the case artwork as well as the digitally download to signify that on the original track listing, scratch vocals were recorded but deemed distracting to the quality of the melody and instrumental presentation of "Why Wont you Speak?". In order to preserve the strong instrumental focus of these remasters, "The Power of the Elbow", another song that originally had lyrics, is presented as an instrumental. The track name format is consistent with the release of Textures Disc 1 - Soft , where track 19, labeled "Books Can Be Deceiving (Instrumental)" might seem confusing against a bunch of otherwise instrumental songs, but "Books Can Be Deceiving" originally had lyrics as well.
